When Kohl's began its e-commerce initiative in 1999, words like "synergy," "integrate" and "holistic" immediately started cropping up around the brand-new department. This was another store, after all, so every aspect of www.kohls.com worked to extend the successful Kohl's formula to the Internet: offering customers value and name-brand merchandise in an enjoyable shopping environment. The goal? Use the technology of the Web to translate the Kohl's shopping experience online.

Kohl's e-Associates work tirelessly to make sure our customers get the most value possible for each and every click of their mouse. E-commerce researches, evaluates and executes new technologies for presenting products, and they're constantly creating new product segments to serve customers with specialized interests.

Plus, they get creative, thinking up new shopping aids to help make our customers' online shopping experience fun, easy and personalized. And, they're constantly adding new content to the Company Information pages of the site, to better serve our customers, investors and communities.

Departmental responsibilities include:

• delivering Kohl's store mix of brands, value and convenience to customers via the Internet
• updating the site to ensure our e-store reflects the current in-store promotion
• overseeing all e-store functions, including merchandise selection, product imagery and copy, editorial content, ordering, fulfillment, shipping and customer service
• ensuring usability for Kohl's online shoppers
• providing ongoing implementation of new, value-added features to enhance customers' online shopping experience
• maintaining all information-based sections of the site, including Company Information, Investor Relations and Careers at Kohl's

Who's Involved?
The VP of E-commerce heads this team of Web Associates, including merchandise content managers, business analysts and planners, usability experts, site designers, programmers, content specialists, marketers and site architects.
